Perth Lymphatic and Remedial Therapy specialises in the holistic treatment and management of Lymphoedema and Lipoedema conditions with a focus on Lymphatic Drainage, in addition to targeted Remedial Massage Therapy. We create individualised treatment plans as the guiding therapy process that addresses specific client needs.

Meet your Therapist

It's lovely to meet you! I'm Sarah, the Owner and Operator of Perth Lymphatic and Remedial Therapy. I am a Lymphoedema Therapist, Remedial Massage Therapist and Social Worker. I have worked in a range of health settings over the years and have a broad experience working with people who have chronic health conditions and disabilities. I myself have Primary Lymphoedema and Lipoedema and put my personal experience of these conditions to good use when working with this client group.

Why choose me?

I strive to make positive changes in the lives of others and to help people achieve their best potential. I am passionate about raising awareness of Lymphoedema and Lipoedema as these conditions are often under diagnosed. I am legally blind, and you may likely meet my Guide Dog when you attend the clinic. Because of this condition, I am connected to this work through touch, and I have an innate ability to uses my senses in a way that strengthens my offerings as a practitioner. I am a keen artist with a passion for colour and creating beautiful things. I am an avid tea drinker and I love learning about new studies and technologies that can support my professional growth. ​I am accepting new clients, bookings and referrals. Our purpose at Perth Lymphatic Remedial Therapy is to provide safe and effective treatment to people who have chronic health conditions. We endeavour to listen to the individual struggles and to help guide our clients on the path to wellness in a safe and supportive environment.

 

Health fund rebates may apply depending on your level of coverage. Contact your individual fund provider with the reference codes: #105 and #205 to discuss your specific coverage you have access to. We are currently NDIS accredited (NDIS Self-Managed Clients only) and can offer Aged Care Package services for clients 65+ years. Please enquire within for individualised queries.

 

We hold a membership of the Australasian Lymphology Association and Massage & Myotherapy Australia. 

How are we different?

At Perth Lymphatic & Remedial Therapy, we provide the appropriate treatments for injury and pain management to help you get back to living a normal, healthy life. Browse below to learn more about our treatments and services. 

 

Remedial Massage isn't one specific type of massage, it's a combination of techniques used to treat conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. Techniques that may be used in a Remedial Massage with us include Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Myofascial Cupping and Stretch therapy. 

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) explained

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specific type of massage that is aimed at promoting movement of lymphatic fluid. MLD is beneficial in reducing swelling and pain levels  An MLD massage will incorporate massage of the main lymph nodes and a rhythmic skin stretching massage towards the lymph nodes of the affected areas of your body. Whilst MLD is most commonly used to treat chronic conditions of the lymphatic system such as Lymphoedema and Venous Insufficiency, it can be beneficial in treating a wide range of conditions and injuries that cause swelling and pain including:
 

  • Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis Fibromyalgia Sinusitis Fractures

  • Strains and sprains

  • Bells Palsy with associated facial swelling, after surgeries

  • After having systemic infections like Influenza, Covid19

  • Burn patients

  • Cancer patients and

  • People with impaired mobility. 

Physiotherapy

Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy (DLT) explained

Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy (DLT) is a specific treatment approach aimed at addressing dysfunctions of the lymphatic system. This type of treatment can include the use of compression bandaging, Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage, measuring for and provision of compression garments, use of a sequential intermittent pneumatic compression pump (SIPC), Low Level Laser Therapy aka cold laser, advice of managing lifestyle, and advice on maintaining skin care. The approach taken will depend on your specific needs. Conditions that can benefit from DLT include:

  • Lymphoedema

  • Lipoedema and

  • Chronic Venous Insufficiencies.
